'No Man's Sky' rumors: Mac version could happen in 2017; Hello Games explains lore, 'day and night' cycle of the game [VIDEOS]

No Man's Sky is an upcoming adventure survival video game developed and published by the indie British studio Hello Games.

New details for "No Man's Sky" will feature the game's lore and "day and night" cycle, as well as a possible Mac version release next year.

British video game company Hello Games revealed new game details for "No Man's Sky" regarding the lore behind the sci-fi adventure video game. Hello Game's founder Sean Murray wrote in the PlayStation blog the approuch of creating the game's lore is "a bit different" than players are used to with some other video games and wants players to discover incredible and interesting things within "No Man's Sky" on their own.

Murray added that the things gamers can see in "No Man's Sky" such as buildings, races etc. are their for a reason and Hello Games did not include some cut scenes or linear story telling for the game. However, there is some lore within the game citing the reasons why these things exist, why they build it and who or what they are in the first place.

Hello Games has been working with "Watchmen" writer Dave Gibbons and "Star Trek" writer James Swallow in creating the stories for "No Man's Sky" which will be showcasing some of the adventures within the game's comic book title featured in the Limited Edition.

In other news, there are rumors making rounds that "No Man's Sky" could have a Mac version sometime next year as Hello Games will have plans for the game's post launch, Macworld reported.

Although gamers can install a window program on their Mac computers for them to play "No Man's Sky", there is still a bit of hope that a Mac version could be in the works and gamers will have to wait for further announcements from Hello Games after the game launches on June.

Aside from the rumored Mac version, Hello Games showcased the 24 hour time lapse in "No Man's Sky" in a new game trailer. The video sees the impressive shifting between day time and night time in one planet and there is also an easter egg of 65daysofstatic music in the trailer.

"No Man's Sky" will have players travelling through massive galaxies with 18 quintillion planets as they can travel through space, land and even underwater. Gamers will the opportunity to explore different terrains and discover all sorts of plants and wild alien creatures.

Players can upgrade their weapons, gear and space ship using all of the resources in the planet, but they must be beware that enemy sentinels will be present if ever they decide to attack the planet. Hyperdrive upgrades are also needed for players to travel further into the galaxy and Murray teased that gamers will likely bump into each other within game, but the chances of that happening due to how massive the areas of this game can really offer.

"No Man's Sky" will launch on June 21 in the United States and June 24 in Europe for the PS4 and PC platforms.
