Electronic Arts and California's Great America has finally announced the opening date of their collaborated Mass Effect attraction that can be experienced at their theme park on May 18.

The Mass Effect attraction will be different as it will give a 4D entertainment experience to guests and visitors. It will also be hosted by a live performer who would guide the riders into the whole Mass Effect experience.

Bioware, the developer of the widely-loved Mass Effect video games, have announced the theme park attraction in September 2015. Now, EA and California's Great America in Santa Clara just announced that it will finally open for everyone.

Guests and visitors will be taken to "a distant planet" and battle against "larger-than-life foes," Engadget  reported. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any teaser or sneak peek as to what riders can experience besides the image tweeted by CA Great America.

It is also not known which characters will be present in the said 4D Mass Effect attraction. Shepard could make an appearance but there could also be new characters that will play key roles in the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda expected to hit the shelves in the earlier part of 2017.

EA's collaboration with California's Great America may be part of their marketing attempt at getting players hyped up regarding the upcoming Mass Effect 4 game. It has been several years after players were disappointed in the ending of the last ME title, which left them with more questions than answers.

Hopefully, the attraction could offer some clues as to what to expect in the next Mass Effect title. If the game would be successful enough, EA and Bioware might be able to cook up more sequels to the game.

More details regarding the Mass Effect Andromeda game could be expected in the upcoming EA Play event, according to Cinemablend. If not, the game could make an appearance also in E3.

Mass Effect Andromeda is expected to launch before March 2017 at the earliest and it is also around the same time when the last ME was launched. The Mass Effect attraction could offer new insights as to what the next title would be like.

Players can try to see what clues the Mass Effect attraction could offer on May at the Great America theme park. The 4D experience alone could be worth it.
