No "Mass Effect: Andromeda" game title will be released this year, as the game's publisher EA announced.
In E3 2015, the "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" reveal trailer stated a 2016 release date; however, the release of the said game title was pushed back to "Q4," EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen hinted during a business summit interview.
Jorgensen was quoted as saying "We have all our sports games, we have Mirror's Edge, a runner game coming out in the first quarter, and then we have Mass Effect, which is a sci-fi action game, in our fourth quarter. So big year ahead and we're pretty excited."
Since EA's financial fourth quarter stretches from January to March, it may mean that "Mass effect: Andromeda" may see the light within Q1 of 2017.
It can be noted that "Mass Effect 2" was released end of January, while "Mass Effect 3" was unveiled at the beginning of March, so it is safe to assume that the fourth "Mass Effect" game may slightly have an earlier release. With EA's upcoming line up "Battlefield 5," which will likely have a November 2016 release to go against "call of Duty," and "Titanfall 2," which will presumably be released either September or October 2016, it make sense why "Mass Effect: Andromeda" release was pushed back.
Meanwhile, other reports claim that the delayed release of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" was due to key staff leaving BioWare. The most recent BioWare staff who left was senior development director Chris Wynn, who is now the executive producer of the next "H1Z1" installment and "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" lead writer Chris Schlerf, who have also announced that he is now working with Bungie, the developer of "Destiny."
Although Schlerf left BioWare Montreal, he teased that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will blow gamers mind, and that he can't wait to see "ME:A" hitting the shelves.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda," which will introduce a new protagonist and a new era of space, is slated to be released to Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4 and PC.
