Fighter Conor McGregor has been throwing shades against the UFC, where he currently works for. After his defeat against Nick Diaz, the Irish MMA artist has been more unpredictable than ever with his actions.
Now, McGregor is demanding that the UFC give him back his rematch against Diaz on UFC 200, which is now headlined by Jon Jones versus Daniel Cormier which was supposed to happen on UFC 197, AOL reported. Moreover, he called out his boss, Dana White and his rival Diaz on his Instagram account as he wants to let them know that this is what every UFC fan wants to happen.
It is hard to blame the UFC for taking such actions since McGregor did not show up on the media tour that is supposed to promote his rematch against Diaz. For the Irish fighter, training was much more important than the said tour. However, this was compulsory as per UFC rules and it was subject for punishment, which would haunt McGregor later.
Then, McGregor followed it up with another eyebrow-raising move as he announced in his Twitter page that he is officially retiring from the competition. Thus, the disappointed White pulled off McGregor's name on the main card citing his absence during the press tour as the reason.
Two days after, McGregor decided to call off his bluff and said that he is not retired. However, it is too late as White already placed Jones versus Cormier as the main event for UFC 200.
With no hopes of getting his rematch anytime soon, McGregor reportedly took it to Twitter to answer some questions from fans and when asked how he thinks the new PPV on UFC 200 will fare revenue-wise, the trash-talking champion said that it will not even sell anything close to $1.5 million in PPV, MMA Fighting reported. UFC 200 is happening on July 9 in the brand new MGM-AEG Arena.
This will be Jones' second fight after being reinstated in October 2015. Cormier, meanwhile, will try to even things up with Jones as he lost via unanimous decision in their first fight.
