Adam Rose, who is currently suspended for violating the WWE's Wellness Policy, was arrested on on May 11, Wednesday, at 3:30 a.m. in Florida. Rumors claim that his arrest may lead to his release from the WWE.
The WWE star was booked by the Hillsborough County police under his real name, Raymond Leppan. He was charged with tampering with a witness and battery domestic violence, Fox News reported.
The 36-year-old wrestler was suspended for 60 days by the WWE for violating the company's Wellness Policy regarding a positive drug test. He began serving his suspension on April 16, but he released an explanation from his doctors saying that he was innocent.
Leppan said that he was taking a prescribed medication to treat his Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. He mentioned that he did not knowingly violate the WWE's Wellness Policy since the only thing he wants is to provide for his family.
After the news of the arrest reached the mainstream media, the WWE suspended the South Africa native indefinitely. He was reportedly having an intense argument with his wife, Cassandra, about their marriage.
The Social Outcast member then allegedly grabbed her wife by the face and he started screaming at her. Cassandra then tried to call 911 but Rose stopped her from making it, resulting to the felony charge of tampering with a witness.
According to TMZ Sports, Leppan's wife has pleaded to a judge that she does not want a restraining order. The judge obliged and set a the release bond to $1,000 but they will have to appear in court again in June.
However, the recent arrest of Leppan is not a good look for him or the company he is representing. The WWE is known for their work in empowering women but a domestic violence charge to one of their male wrestlers is a sure public relations disaster for the company's Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon.
The WWE released a number of talents last week headed by King Barrett and Damien Sandow. The latest rumors suggest that more wrestlers will be released in the coming weeks and Rose will be a prime candidate.
The look on Leppan's face in his mugshot in the image below may be a cry for help. He has been having a really bad several weeks after getting suspended then followed by his marital problems. He also has two kids to support, with one of them being a special needs child suffering from a rare birth defect.
The release from his WWE contract will be another blow to Leppan that could lead to a lot of bad things. The WWE may want to avoid a situation like that and get help for one of their talents.
