‘Arrow' season 5 spoilers: Colton Haynes confirms return to The CW show after coming out as gay

"Arrow" season 5 will officially see the return of Colton Haynes' character Roy Harper.

Accordng to Design N Trend, Roy faked his own death in the third season of "Arrow." After which, he returned to the hit The CW series in season 4 to star in two episodes. However, his fans would truly be delighted to find out that the character will officially be back next installment.

While at the Justice Squad Convention in France, Haynes confirmed his return to the franchise.

The publication is noting that Roy's return could be a good thing for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow because they are currently down one member following Laurel Lance's (Katie Cassidy) death.

Meanwhile, Haynes recently came out of the closet and told the entire world about his sexual preference. He decided to respond to a fan who tweeted, "When I found out Colton Haynes had a secret gay past I got so excited even though I know it makes no difference in my life."

With this, Haynes replied, "Was it a secret? Let's all just enjoy life and have no regrets."

The actor's statement was immediately picked up by multiple publications.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Haynes revealed that he suffered from mental and physical health issues throughout the entire duration of his acting career simply because he couldn't come out of the closet.

"I've had terminal anxiety all my life. Physically ill, fainting. I'm 27 years old. I have an ulcer. I had to step back," he said.

The actor that the Tumblr post from a fan came to him as a surprise because at that time, he still wasn't ready to tell the whole world about his preference.

"I should have made a comment or a statement but I just wasn't ready. I didn't feel like I owed anyone anything. I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they're ready and I wasn't yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said," he said.

"Arrow" season 5 is expected to premiere on The CW sometime in the fall.
