The yet-titled "Wolverine 3" movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 3, 2017.

Filming for the third "Wolverine" movie has commenced, and producer Simon Kinberg revealed the necessary lowdown on the upcoming film.

Speaking to Collider, Kinberg stated that the final film in the "Wolverine" trilogy will be "very radical, bold," and fans will see a different Wolverine from the ones they have seen in previous movies. That said, "Wolverine 3" will be R-rated, perhaps in an attempt to replicate the monster success that happened to "Deadpool."

"It's violent, it's kind of like a western in its tone. It's just a very cool, different film," Kinberg shared.

"Wolverine 3" is set in the future, and Patrick Stewart is confirmed to make an appearance as Professor Charles Xavier. Entertainment Weekly reported that the actor himself made the announcement on Twitter, calling it the "worst kept secret" and using the hashtags #ProfessorX and #Wolverine3.

This is not the first time, however, that Stewart let the cat out of the bag with regard to his participation in the "Wolverine 3" movie.

"I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me," the 75-year-old actor told Collider in 2015.

Hutch Parker, producer for the "X-Men" franchise, also confirmed Stewart's role in the film. According to Parker, the plan is to showcase a father-son relationship between Professor X and Logan.

"Jim Mangold and Hugh were really intent on trying to do something unique and different with this. That's what we're setting out to do," Parker said. "I'm not going to tip how, but I'm hoping that you guys will really love it, I think it's really, really special."

"Wolverine 3" will be Hugh Jackman's last outing as the titular mutant with super healing powers, adamantium claws and perfectly coiffed hair. Jackman first portrayed Wolverine in the first "X-Men" film in 2000. He is the sole actor and character to have appeared in all "X-Men" movies.

The yet-titled "Wolverine 3" movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 3, 2017. Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephan Merchant and Eriq La Salle also star in the film.

David James Kelly pens the script for "Wolverine 3," while Jim Mangold directs it.
