Samsung could be planning to release the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge alongside their first foldable Android smartphone which would be launched sometime in 2017 along with other models.

There have been several speculations and rumors coming from the Chinese social networking site Weibo. One of them is that Samsung could be launching several models next year which would include the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy S and the Galaxy Note 7.

Of course, Samsung has not confirmed any of the rumors and hearsay. However, most leaks do end up coming true as sometimes it could be the company itself that are spreading the speculations.

It has just been a couple of months after the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been released for the public. The phones did fair well but the overall smartphone shipments globally are still down compared to other years.

Besides the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge, the Galaxy X is also an interesting phone. It would be the South Korean tech giant's first foldable smartphone.

In terms of specs, the new phone is also impressive under the hood. It is rumored to sport a 4K display with a PenTile sub-pixel arrangement, Business Korea reported.

The Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Edge and the Galaxy Note 7 will sport a QHD Super AMOLED display with RGB sub-pixel arrangement. Unfortunately, there have been no more specs details revealed yet as of this writing.

All of the rumored smartphones would most likely be launched in select areas at first, Nasdaq reported. They could be rolled out in the South Korea, France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and Poland.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge would be going against the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus from Apple. Development of the smartphones could have started already which means they will be just in time for 2017.

Unveiling of the new phones could still be in the earlier part of next year. Shipment and roll out would be expected several months after.

Samsung fans would have to wait for the official announcement on the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge. Pricing could be more or less the same range as the current flagship phones available today.
