Agents of SHIELD

For those readers who have yet to catch up on last season's episodes of "Agents of Shield", spoiler alert. There will be plot details discussed in this article.

The mid-season finale of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" late last year saw developments in the plot indicating the appearance of more inhumans, as Skye was revealed to be. The series also deepened its ties with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

On Feb. 5, Thursday, Marvel announced an addition to its "Agents  cast in the person of Luke Mitchell, who is more prominently known for his role in the short-lived sci-fi series "The Tomorrow People".

"We knew we'd be introducing more Inhumans as our story progressed" said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and the show's Executive Producer, "The charming energy Luke brings to the role will make him a character to watch."

Marvel revealed during the mid-season break that main character and rookie S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Skye (played by Chloe Bennet) is the comic book character Daisy Johnson, one of the Inhumans. This has been confirmed by Executives Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen on the Hollywood Reporter.

In the Marvel comics, the Inhumans are a race of part-humans who have been genetically modified by the alien beings known as the Kree (of "Guardians of the Galaxy" fame).

Luke Mitchell is slated to play an Inhuman named Lincoln, who will play a significant role in Skye's transformation.

"Agents of Shield" is set to return on March 3, 2015 with all-new episodes on ABC. It is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
