Team USA athletes Paige Railey and other guests attend Samsung’'s Virtual Reality Experience Powered by Gear VR during the 2016 Road to Rio Tour in Times Square on April 27, 2016.

Samsung might be launching a gamepad for their Samsung Gear VR headset as new leaked images surface showing an analogue stick control plus four gaming buttons.

Virtual reality headsets for smartphones have given mobile users a taste of what VR experiences can offer on a smaller scale. The Samsung Gear VR is one of the best mobile VR headsets but it lacks a sense of control.

Users can just try to connect a wireless Bluetooth controller for playing VR games while a headset is being used. However, not every controller works with every mobile phone.

New leaked images are now circulating the Internet of what seems to be an official gamepad for the Samsung Gear VR. The photos came from SamsungMania and it shows a flat handheld device to be used in tandem with the South Korean tech giant's VR headset, Pocket-Lint has learned.

The images show a classic analogue stick control scheme plus four gaming buttons just like in any other gamepad. It also has left and right rear buttons which is interesting for a mobile game pad.

The Samsung Gear VR gamepad renders also show a menu button and a LED light, Android Police reported. In terms of color, the whole game pad is covered in black with a plastic-like finish.

Another interesting bit in the leaked images is that the aforementioned gamepad can also snuggly fit in front of the VR headset when it is not in use. This saves all the trouble of having to find a place for a small device which could end up misplaced or stepped on.

Most of the VR experiences do not require a game pad as they are often just scripted moments. However, the VR games do require the control of the player and it adds depth in the overall experience for the user as they are forced to participate and interact with the virtual environment of the game itself.

The Samsung Gear VR gamepad has no pricing and availability yet besides the leaked images. Samsung has not officially unveiled the device too and the photos can also turn out to be just a bust.
