The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is rolling out for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. It is only available for the devices with the model number G935F.

The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is rolling out in a gradual manner for all the users and they ought to get it by the next fortnight. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge device owners can also use the Samsung KIES desktop tool to get the latest update for their device.

Alternatively, users can check their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge devices to see if they are prompted to download the software update or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> Check for Software Update.

In case the users are prompted to update their devices with the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware then they would first need to connect their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge to an unmetered and stable Wi-Fi connection. The update can also be downloaded over the phone's network connection but the user may incur high data charges so it is recommended to use the Wi-Fi connection for the download process.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge would also be needed to be connected to a power source if the battery levels are less than 50 percent for an uninterrupted download experience. In case the download process is halted midway then the local data on the device may be lost and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge may be bricked as well.

On the other hand, users who are anxious to upgrade to the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update soon can do so via the ODIN tool. As this is an unofficial method of upgradation so the users need to follow all the instructions carefully else their Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge device can be bricked.

Android Marshmallow comes with numerous exciting features, which enhance the battery life and the usability of the device. The revamped Settings app, Doze feature and the Standby feature increase the battery life to a great extent, according to BGR.
