The Android Marshmallow update is rolling out for Samsung Galaxy A9, Note 4 and Note Edge. BlackBerry Priv users are also getting the update.
The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is rolling out for Samsung Galaxy A9 with the model number SM-A9000. The update is releasing in a phased manner for all the users and they will receive the new firmware by mid-June.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is also getting the Android Marshmallow update in Europe, according to an Italian website HD Blog Samsung. The firmware number is N915FYXXU1DPE1 and it is expected to release on a worldwide scale soon. The update is over 1.5 GB and is releasing in a gradual manner for all the users.
The Android Marshmallow update comes with the maintenance release patch for the current month and with specific UI enhancements for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. TouchWiz UI, power saving and the vibration modes have also been improved for the device.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users in Canada are receiving the Android Marshmallow update on the Telus and the Koodo network carriers. The update is over 1 GB and it is releasing in a phased manner for all the devices.
BlackBerry released the fourth beta update of Android Marshmallow. The update is rolling out to all those users who signed up for the BlackBerry Android Marshmallow Beta Testing program.
The Android Marshmallow beta update is worth 1.8 GB and it is rolling out for three models of the device. BlackBerry device with the model numbers STV100-1, STV100-3 and STV100-4 are getting the update.
Users need to be extremely careful while downloading the Android Marshmallow beta update else they can brick their device. The device needs to be connected to a power source and a reliable Wi-fi network during the installation process. In case the download process is interrupted then the device will need to be flashed and the local data can be lost.
Android Marshmallow update enhances the battery life of the device with its numerous power saving features such as the Doze mode and the new Standby feature, according to BGR. It also comes with the functionality of Android Pay and fingerprint authentication.
