LG G5, G4 and G3 users have received the Android Marshmallow update. The update is still awaited for most of the users of LG G2, LG G Flex 2, LG V10 and LG G Stylo.
LG G5 was released with Android Marshmallow out of the box. It was also recently upgraded to Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 on all the network carriers such as Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, T-Mobile and Verizon.
Network carrier Sprint was the first one to roll out the Android Marshmallow update to LG G4 in Dec. 2016. Other carriers such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon and US Cellular followed suit in the succeeding months.
LG G3 received the Android Marshmallow update in Nov. 2016 in Poland. Later on, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile rolled out the update to the device in the United States. However, other network carriers such as US Cellular and Sprint have not released the update for their LG G3 users.
The Android Marshmallow update is rolling out for LG V10 users on the AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network carriers. Other network carriers like US Cellular and Sprint are also expected to roll out the update soon for their customers.
Other LG devices such as LG G4C and LG G Flex 2 are also waiting for the Android Marshmallow update. Users can check their devices to see if they have received any notification to download the update or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> About Software Update.
In case the users are prompted to download the update then they need to connect the device to an unmetered and reliable Wi-Fi connection. Users also need to plug in the device to a power source if the battery levels are less than 50 percent for an uninterrupted experience.
Android Marshmallow is packed with numerous battery enhancing features such as Doze and Standby. It also has support for a fingerprint scanner and Android Pay, according to BGR.
Meanwhile, LG G5 users are expected to get the upcoming Android N update by the end of 2016, according to Pocket-Lint. The possibility of Android N rolling out for older devices such as LG G3 and LG G2 is very rare but private developers may release custom ROMs of the operating system.
