The Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update is rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Tab A, according to Android Community. The build number of the firmware update is T550XXU1BPE1.
Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users on network carrier AT&T are receiving the security patch for the month of May. The patch is around 40 MB and it is releasing in a phased manner for all the users, according to GSM Arena.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users on the AT&T network can check their devices to see if they are eligible for the latest security patch or not. To do so, they need to go to Settings> About Device> Software Update.
On the other hand, the Android Marshmallow update is finally rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on the AT&T network. Other network carriers such as Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Sprint had already released the update for their users weeks ago.
The Android Marshmallow update is around 1.5GB, so the users are advised to connect their device to an unmetered and reliable Wi-Fi connection for an interrupted download. The device also needed to be plugged to a power source if the battery levels are less than 50 percent.
The latest Android Marshmallow update will revamp the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge's operating system from Android Lollipop to Android Marshmallow. It will also bring numerous Samsung-specific features like a newly-designed notification panel and TouchWiz's new look to the device.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge users will see numerous improvements in the edge panel after it is upgraded to Android Marshmallow. Users can take advantage of Android Pay to make payments from their devices with the aid of biometric security.
