"Person of Interest" Season 5 episode 11, titled "Synecdoche," will see the return of Amy Acker (Root) following the devastating 100th episode. With only three episodes left until the series finale, one can definitely expect more drama in the CBS series.
In the promo clip for "Person of Interest" Season 5 episode 11, it was revealed that the coming episode will focus on how the team will help save the President of the United States in danger. According to Sirg, the team will have to try their hardest, as not only a life, but also their integrity, is at stake.
The outlet reported that Finch (Michael Emerson) will be seen making a difficult decision, triggered by Root's death. As one may remember, Root sacrificed herself to save Finch and his machine in episode 10, "The Day the World Went Away." Although he is stuck at a dark and difficult phase in his life, Finch will have to step up and do something if he want the killings to end.
While many are still left emotional with Roots' death, Acker hinted that we have not seen the last of her just yet. She shared that she left the set crying after they filmed the 100th episode, thinking that she will never see her "Person of Interest" co-stars, only to be back a week later.
"Is that a spoiler? I don't know. They have shown some previews for the next three episodes and you do see me in the flesh so..." Acker said.
The actress, however, refused to reveal further details, when it comes to the return of Root in the next episode of "Person of Interest" Season 5. Acker said that the episode was meant for viewers to realize that the Machine knows everyone's personalities, with it knowing them better than they know theirselves.
"The Machine knows Root exactly to 99.6% accuracy but then the Machine is saying its own ideas in Root's voice. But Root and the Machine share a lot of the same ideas as it is. So I hope it all becomes clear. It's a lot of Root and the Machine melding into one thing," Acker explained.
