The new arc of Dragon Ball Super will feature Future Trunks and a new enemy Black Goku

The latest details for "Dragon Ball Super" will feature a new theory about Black Goku and Future Trunks achieving the Super Saiyan Blue transformation.

Episode 47 of "Dragon Ball Super" introduced a new story arc involving the return of Future Trunks and the emergence of a new enemy named Black Goku or simply "Black" as Trunks calls him. Anime fans and viewers learned that this is the same Future Trunks from the "Android" and "Cell" sagas that helped Son Goku, Vegeta the rest of the Z warriors in "Dragon Ball Z" anime and his future timeline is under attack by Black.

Black's facial appearance is strikingly similar to Son Goku with the exception of having black attire and an evil and ruthless personality. Several rumors have been revealed regarding Black's origin in "Dragon Ball Super" as one theory suggest that he is from Universe 6 and Future Trunks is a different person resident to that universe, but it was proven debunked when episode 47 aired.

However, a new theory suggest that Black is actually the Demon God Demigra due a photo comparison that sees Black wearing a Potara earring similar to Demigra, but the only difference is that Black only wears one. The Potara earrings gives individuals the ability to form a permanent "fusion" as long as two person are wearing each earrings. Son Goku and Vegeta used these rings to form Vegito during their fight with Super Buu during the "Maijin Buu" saga. But Potara is also worn by the Supreme Kais as part of their standard outfits and it has no special property in that case.

Another hint is that Goku has fused with a power that has no form and it overwhelmed him, possibly turning evil in the process, while anoher suggest that it could be a new form Potara that is yet to be introduced in "Dragon Ball Super" and that Demigra has acquired it to possess Goku.

Demigra is first introduced in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" video game as the main antagonist that Future Trunks and created protagonist must stop as he disrupt time and space. With the help of Son Goku and the Supreme Kai of Time, they were able to defeat Demigra and save the Universe. Demigra's further history is revealed in the "Dark Demon Realm Foundation" saga in "Dragon Ball Heroes".

Due to his ability to "influence" several "Dragon Ball" characters such as Frieze, Cell, Kid Buu, Vegeta, Son Gohan, Gotenks and many more, but when it comes to Black it seems that Demigra obtain a new way to possess Goku and making it on his own, Otaku Kart reported

"Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyam stated that Black's major presents in the new arc will attract the attention of the Gods of the Destruction Beerus and Champa, the Supreme Kais and even the Omin King Zeno.

In other news, there is a new theory regarding Future Trunks' new appearance in "Dragon Ball Super". When Toriyama confirmed Future Trunks' return in the anime series, the concept art of character was revealed and features a new attire and a blue hair as opposed to his original color being Violet.

Several fan speculations stated that Future Trunks' hair is a tribute to his mother Bulma, who is killed by Black, while others suggest that the anime producer purposely change his color in order to distinguish Future Trunks from his younger self from the past.

However, another theory suggest that Future Trunks' hair color could be the result of having to achieve Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan Blue transformation similar to Son Goku and Vegeta , Forbes reported. Both Goku and Vegeta are the only characters who have obtained this form, not to mention being born as Saiyans, unlike Trunks who is a haft human, haft Saiyan. Could this mean that the change of Future Trunks' hair is the result of having the Super Saiyan Blue transformation?

So far, there have been no comments from the anime's producer and Toriyama regarding the possibility of the Future Trunks having Super Saiyan God transformation.

Episode 48 will feature Future Trunks being nursed by Bulma after successfully traveling to the past and he is met by his younger self along with Son Goku and Vegeta.

"Dragon Ball Super" returns next week on Fuji TV.
