Song Joong-ki is a South Korean actor, model and host. He rose to fame in the historical drama 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal' and the variety show 'Running Man.'

Song Joong Ki, 30, just revealed that Hong Kong holds a special place in his heart. The Hallyu star, who catapulted to international fame after starring as Army Captain Yoo Si Jin in KBS2's "Descendants of the Sun," recently concluded his Hong Kong fan meeting event on June 11, Saturday.

Recently, Song visited Hong Kong for the AsiaWorld-Expo, where he held the seventh fan meeting of his "2016 Song Joong Ki Asia Tour Fan Meeting" that started in early May. According to the actor's agency, Blossom Entertainment, about 8,000 local fans surged to the Asia World Expo Arena, eager that they could see the hot star directly.

Song was joined by his best friend and "Running Man" star Lee Kwang Soo. The two stars entertained the 8,000 local fans with a variety of games and activities that went on for around three-four hours.

Much to the delight of fans, Song and Lee also performed an adorable duet together. They sang "Two People" by Sung Si Kyung. Although Song has visited Hong Kong in the past to promote "Descendants of the Sun" and as a tourist, it was learned that it was the first time that the actor held a fan meeting in the said country.

"Hong Kong is a special place for me because this was the first tourism spot that I visited after becoming an adult," Yonhap News Agency quoted Song as saying to the 8,000 fans in attendance. "I'm so happy to be holding my first fan meeting in Hong Kong today, and I was really surprised to see so many people here. Thank you so much."

Toward the end of the meet and greet, the actor then expressed gratitude toward all his local fans for their avid support and stressed that he will repay such love with better acting in the future. He goes ahead to say that his fans' unrivaled support and passion seemingly give him a big energy to keep going.

Meanwhile, Song's next fan meeting is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, the capital of China's Sichuan, on June 17, Friday, wherein he will be joined by actress Song Hye Kyo. It will then be followed by another fan meeting event in Taipei, Taiwan on June 25, K-pop Herald reported.
