Thomas Ravenel has been awarded joint custody of his two kids with Kathryn Dennis, Kensington Calhoun Ravenel and St. Julien Rembert Ravenel. The politician turned "Southern Charm" reality star shared that he is beyond excited to see his children again after 12 weeks.
According to All About The Tea, a joint custody agreement was struck and the children were immediately handed back to Ravenel after Dennis' drug test came back positive. She reportedly had both marijuana and cocaine in her system wihile Ravenel's test came back clean.
Based on the joint custody agreement, both Ravenel and Dennis will have equal custody of Kensington and Julien. Ravenel, however, was granted unsupervised joint custody while Dennis was only allowed to be with the kids if her parents are there to supervise her time with them. Their time with the kids will be split 50/50, with each of them alternating a week of custody.
When asked about the results of Dennis' drug test, Ravenel insisted that her lawyer is not the type to leak any information to the media.
Meanwhile, Ravenel said that he is thrilled to see Kensie and Julien, who they fondly call Saint, again. He used to see them every other week for three days but it went down to every other week for two days. With the new court order allowing the parents to have the children a week at a time, Ravenel cannot wait to make up for the lost times. The "Southern Charm" star, however, admitted that he was wary how his kids will react, especially Kensie, given that they have not seen each other in a long time.
"It's been 12 weeks, so I was nervous about how Kensie would react to me. I was concerned that she would be standoffish or angry with me, but she was deliriously happy when she saw me. I just want to show her the love and attention that she needs and deserves, as her father."
Speaking to the publication, Ravenel believed that if he and Dennis failed to reach an amicable solution, it would eventually have a negative effect to both Kelsie and Julien.
