New 'Persona 5' characters revealed during E3 2016 presentation; Atlus showcase 'Day to Night' gameplay, Japanese track DLC, more details next month [VIDEOS]

Persona 5 is an upcoming JRPG being developed by Atlus of the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 console

New "Persona 5" details will feature new game characters, "Day to Night" trailer, Japanese track DLC and more details for the sequel next month.

 Atlus was in attendance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo event this week as the Japanese game producers showcased a new gameplay trailer called "Day to Night" that sees the new protagonist of the sequel going through a normal everyday life in the city by day to doing jobs as a Phantom Thief by night.

Like the previous "Persona" games, players are engaged to do real world activities such as going to school, attending classes and making new friends. The protagonist can also do all sorts of activities in the city such playing baseball, watching a movie and eating in fast food restaurants. The protagonist will also engage in taking part-time jobs to earn money such as a flower shop keeper, fast food crew or a cashier at a convenient store.

The Phantom Thieves missions are far different as the protagonist and his friends will engage in missions in the Palace by moving around dungeons by stealth. The combat system in "Persona 5" have been improved as the "Sneak" feature will allow players to gain the upper hand against enemies with stealth attacks. There will also be an "All-Out" attack that enables the protagonist and his party member to gang up and beat up the monsters for extra damage. The protagonist will also be guided by Morgana throughout the game often giving advice to the players on what to do next, Polygon reported.

Aside from the new gameplay trailer, Atlus also introduced a new party member in "Persona 5", as well as cooperative characters in the game.

The new member of the Phantom Thieves is named Goro Akechi, a high school student and a detective. Atlus did not reveal any further details about what Goro's role within the sequel.

As for the cooperation characters, these individuals will be around to help the protagonist and his friends by giving them special skills and abilities. There names are Tae Takemi, Munehisa Iwai, and Sojiro Sakura and the gamers must establish a relationship with these three and the trust built by it will enable gamers to have a "Co-op" gameplay and enables the protagonist to gain their abilities whenever the situation is during missions. Atlus will also release a Japanese voice track for "Persona 5" as a DLC for the sequel.

Atlus announced that new gameplay details for "Persona 5" will be revealed at the game's premium event at the Tokyo National Museum on July 19. Gamers will able to play "Persona 5" when granter access to the event and it will be streamed by NicoNico channel, Gematsu reported.

"Persona 5" will launch on Sept. 15 in Japan and on Feb. 14 in North America for the PS4 and PS3 consoles.
