Initial rumors hinted that the American tech conglomerate is delaying Surface Pro 5 release from late 2016 to spring of 2017.

Tech enthusiasts and casual tech consumers alike were very much impressed by Microsoft's most recent laptop/tablet hybrid, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, which was released in October 2015. Considering the rave reviews of Surface Pro 4, it is unsurprising how Microsoft fans are already itching to find out more about the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has yet to announce any information about their soon-to-be released device. Nevertheless, speculations about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 have made their way online. Based on the available accounts, the laplet is a device to watch out for.

Surface Pro 5 Specifications

According to PC Advisor's sources, the two versions of the Surface Pro 5 would be released. The publication claims that a 2K screen model would be available for budget-conscious consumers. Likewise a more expensive 4k screen version would be released for individuals with more cash to burn.

Moreover, recently, there have been rumors circulating the web surrounding Surface Pen updates. Still, according to a report by PC Advisor, the new Surface Pen would come with a rechargeable battery that charges without the need for wires. The upcoming stylus can also be attached magnetically to the table for optimum convenience.

The Surface Pro 5 is expected to run on Intel's latest generation chipset codenamed Kaby Lake.

Surface Pro 5 Pricing

Pricing for the Surface Pro 5 has remained purely speculative. Several reports claim that the upcoming laplet would sell for around the same price as the Surface Pro 4 when it first came out at more or less $850.

Surface Pro 5 Release date

News outlets have been adamant about the Surface Pro 5 being powered by Intel's Kaby Lake processor. According to Mobipicker, this is the exact reason why the laplet would not be available until the turn of the year. The Kaby Lake has yet to be officially unveiled, and at this point, it is unlikely that the Surface Pro 5 would be unveiled before the end of 2016 should it utilize Intel's latest chipset.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would be available for purchase in spring of 2017.
