"The Voice" former contestant Christina Grimmie who was shot to death last week was buried on June 16, Thursday, in New Jersey. A viewing in her honor was held at the Fellow Alliance Chapel in New Jersey near her town.

Grimmie's funeral was an "intimate gathering of her family and close friends," PEOPLE reported. Her best friends, aunt and cousins had shared stories during the viewing about growing up with her. Her brother, Marcus Grimmie, comforted his parents and thanked everyone for being there.

"All I'm going to say is thank God for the mark that she left on this world," Marcus addressed the audience. "Thanks mom and dad I know it's going to be really tough for us to move forward."

The singer's brother was praised by police to tackle his younger sister's shooter right after the attack, as the killer could have hurt others. Marcus said the rumors that his sister opened her arms when her killer approached her as a fan, is true as it was how his sister treated everyone. On June 18, Saturday, a tribute to the singer was posted on the singer's official YouTube and Twitter page.

Grimmie's older brother likewise attended a candlelight vigil in their hometown and thanked the fans for their overwhelming support and love. He noted how his sister, who is now in a better place, loved their town, state, as well as singing, the Lord and his brother. Prior to the vigil, Marcus posted on Facebook that he was blown away upon learning that his sister's "The Voice" coach Adam Levine called his mom to pay for the funeral.

Meanwhile, according to the former co-workers of Grimmie's killer, it was his mission to become attractive, so he would appear irresistible to the 22-year-old singer. He had Lasik eye surgery, hair transplants and tried to lose weight. When it did not work, he changed his plan and killed her.

Loibl's infatuation with the singer was boundless, some of Loibl's former co-workers in Best Buy told TMZ. He listened to her music at work and vowed to make her his wife. In March, he went in one of the singer's shows and hinted he actually met her.

The co-workers likewise said Loibl claimed he played online games with Grimmie, but it was not confirmed by the singer's camp. Loibl was teased by colleagues he did not have a chance with Grimmie because the singer already had a boyfriend, her producer. Such enraged Loibl and vented his rage on June 10 when he shot the singer in the head, then killed himself.

Here's a footage of Grimmie before her death.
