Another actor is reported to be in the middle of negotiation with Sony, and could eventually be added to the mix of cast in the upcoming reboot of "Spiderman."
According to some reports, Donald Glover would have a part in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," although the role that Glover would be playing still remains a mystery. Reports also stated that Marvel is intentionally keeping the role under wraps, and because of the secrecy, fans could do nothing but speculate on what he may be portraying.
According to Ecumenical News, Glover is far too old to be casted as Peter Parker's best friend since the reboot focuses on the teenage life of Spidey. The villain role is also taken by Michael Keaton, but rumors has it that he would either be Aunt May's love interest or he would have the role of being a secondary villain.
The same publication also noted that Glover had the interest of being part of the "Spiderman" movie since 2010, and his fans made a petition for him to be casted as Spiderman for the reboot "The Amazing Spider-Man." Glover even supported the campaign but the part was given to Andrew Garfield instead. Despite of not getting the lead role in 2010, he lends his voice to Disney channel as Miles Morales who played the role of "Spider-Man" in the animated series on Disney XD titled "Ultimate Spider Man."
Now that Glover could possibly land a role in the upcoming reboot, it seemed like the actor's dream will finally come true. He was first seen in the comedy series "The Community," and since then, he's landed a couple of different roles which showed how amazing his acting skills were - he was seen in movies like "Magic Mike XXL" and "The Martian." Aside from acting, he also has the talent in music, as Glover is a rap artist that goes by the name of Childish Gambino.
Meanwhile, according to Hollywood Reporter, Glover "has proven to be a talent across multiple platforms," and now that he is about to join the cast of "Spider-Man: Homecoming," he will surely give justice to whatever role he is given.
Glover would be working in the reboot alongside Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Zendaya as the female lead Michelle, and Marisa Tomei as Aunt May.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" is set to hit the big screens on July 7, 2017.
