After its sequel's last release in 2006, "Half Life 3" is reported to be launched by 2018 with full VR compatibility. This is expected from the developer as 2018 will be marking the 20-year existence of the "Half Life" game series.
Fans have been expecting an announcement for "Half Life 3" for more than a decade now since the last episode of "Half Life 2" was released in 2006. The game series first arrived in gaming consoles in 1998, in 2018, it would mark its 20 years of existence the reason why some are speculating 2018 would be the perfect time for the third installment to be launched, The News Independent reported.
Another report added there have been recent market speculations that indicate a development is already on the works for the creation of "Half Life 3." Rumors also include that the new game is expected to be based in a fully-VR platform where players will get to interact with the environment by moving around and looking around, Neurogadget reported.
"Half Life" was first released in 1998, six years after the first episode of its second installment was released in 2004. By 2006, the last of the two episodes for the second installment was launched. Since then, fans have already anticipated the release for the game's next sequel.
"Half Life 3" will be developed by Valve, the game developer responsible for "Counter Strike," "Left 4 Dead," "Portal" and "Doa 2" among others. Despite the numerous games they developed, others consider that the company's biggest contribution in the gaming world is the "Half Life" series.
Valve is considered as one of the biggest names in the world of technology since it was able to come up with some of the biggest updates and developments in the market over a long period of time. The company is also known to have a prominent figure in the gaming world.
