'Final Fantasy VII Remake' is an upcoming video game remake, developed and published by Square Enix, of the original 1997 PlayStation role-playing video game by Square.

Square Enix's role-playing game "Final Fantasy" is almost three decades, and fans are expecting new developments. Speculations are rife about the much-awaited release of "Final Fantasy 7 Remake." Director Tetsuya Nomura recently promised big announcement to come out soon.

Nomura had an interview with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, which was translated by KH Insider, a website dedicated to news about "Kingdom Hearts." During the interview, the director concentrated more on the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, especially the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts III" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8." however, Nomura as well teased on the much-rumored remake, which he is directing.

"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" made a hit during the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 with a promo. On the contrary, avid fans expected the game developer to give some information about "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," which turned out to be disillusionment. The director said that although he could not give any specifics, details about the remake would be coming in future.

The development is reportedly preparing for the next information release. Nomura teased that the current plans for details about the imminent remake is likened to the approach for "Kingdome Hearts HD 2.8." therefore, the team is gearing up to release massive information at once as opposed to doing in piecemeal.

Rumors have emerged that the forthcoming remake announcements will come together with the announcements for "Kingdom Hearts" franchise, which is scheduled for August. At the end of the same month, Square Enix will provide a series of announcements for the "Dissidia Final Fantasy."

Meanwhile, there have been reports that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" would have a different format as compared to the original "Final Fantasy VII" game. The game producer, Yoshinori Kitase, initially said that the developer would be launching the remake episodically. The producer added that the story of the remake would be divided into multiple games.

In an interview with Gamespot, Kitase said, "It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In 'XIII,' each instalment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense. Whereas with 'Final Fantasy VII Remake,' we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn't really make sense if that isn't encompassed in a multi-part series."

If Square Enix is to consider each part of the upcoming remake, one part should be to the scale of one "Final Fantasy XIII" game. The producer teased that the upcoming "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" would be revamped, but he emphasized that it would not lose the original feel and essence.
