Fallout 4 VR version to arrive in 2017 for HTC Vive, Bethesda says at E3

The HTC Vive is the firm's first virtual reality gadget.

Fallout 4 PC players will be able to play the game in virtual reality using the HTC Vive VR headset in 2017 as Bethesda Softworks had announced during their keynote address at E3 2016.

No further details have been given as to how they will be making a VR version of the game. Some fans are already concerned that Fallout 4 may not be suited for VR and could cause motion sickness.

The company may have shocked the massive Fallout fanbase considering that there were no rumors leading up to the announcement. Usually, E3 presentations are guessed or speculated before the keynotes are delivered by the developers and publishers.

Fallout 4 VR will be coming to the HTC Vive headset in 2017 and it would be a massive part of Bethesda's VR initiative, Mashable has learned. There is also a possibility that the developers have already been working on the VR version even before the announcement and the lack of the month in the expected release date suggests that they are not yet 50 percent done.

VR is shaping up to be the next big thing for both budget-conscious and rich consumers especially as AMD announced the VR-ready Radeon RX 480 Polaris video card for just $200. NVIDIA has a more powerful version in the form of the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080 but they are priced at $389 and $599, respectively.

Bethesda has also teased that there would be some Doom content that will be available in VR, The Verge reported. The company did not explicitly announce what the content will be or from which game, but they said that players will be able to take a "virtual tour of Hell."

The Doom VR content could be a short interactive experience where the player can walk around or it could be a linear tour too. Others are saying that a VR version for the fast-paced shooter would only make people sick because of the quick glances needed to aim and shoot at demons.

Fans will have to wait for more details on the Fallout 4 VR version for the HTC Vive by Bethesda. Hopefully, a teaser could be released soon to let the people know what they will be expecting.
