Everton striker Romelu Lukaku reportedly reached a "personal terms" agreement with Arsenal as the Belgium international still competes for his home country in the ongoing 2016 UEFA European Championship.

The 23-year-old forward, who is one of the most influential players in head coach Marc Wilmots' Belgium eleven, has been linked to a Goodison Park exit since the end of the 2015-2016 season and the Gunners are said to be in line to buy the 6-foot-3 goalscorer once the summer transfer window opens on Friday.

Lukaku just finished his third season with the Toffees before going on a Euros stint this summer, scoring 18 goals in 37 Premier League appearances under manager Ronald Koeman. He also appeared in 46 games in all competitions for Everton, netting 25 goals, one of the most prolific in Europe.

His impressive play last term attracted the interest not only of Arsenal, but also of the other top clubs in the world, such as Manchester United, Chelsea, and, just recently, Italian Serie A squad AC Milan.

However, 90min disclosed that Lukaku had already "agreed personal terms" with Arsene Wenger's side, citing esteemed Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli as the source of the news.

With the Gunners recently failing to snag striker Jamie Vardy from newly-crowned English top flight champions Leicester City, the 66-year-old French manager is said to be turning his "attention to Everton's Lukaku as he looks to bolster his squad" next season.

The Holloway, London residents are reportedly preparing a £60 million transfer fee for the Antwerp, Belgium native, which if pushed through is set to break the current Arsenal transfer record of £42.4 million they pulled off in September 2013 for German midfielder Mesut Özil.

Everton is not that keen to sell their prized striker, though, and they are expected to "secure a significant transfer fee in exchange for letting him go", according to Caught Offside.

It means that all the rumors of a personal agreement between Lukaku and Arsenal is still speculation at this time until the Merseyside squad permits the deal to happen.

In three seasons with Everton, Lukaku had appeared in a total of 127 games in all competitions and had netted 61 goals in the process.
