"Arrow" is an American television series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg.

"Arrow" Season 5 is said to be Stephen Amell's last stint as Oliver Queen. It was also recently revealed that the 35-year-old actor is interested in playing one of the villains to Batman.

While promoting his movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows," Amell told Cine Pop which comic book character he would like to portray in the big screen. Instead of choosing a shiny superhero, Amell opted for a villain.

"I always get this question. I think all the superheroes are taken now. I'll play The Riddler, okay?" Amell revealed. "It's a villain, but I like The Riddler." In 2014, he gave the same answer during a Nerd HQ panel at San Diego Comic Con International.

The Riddler is one of Batman's more popular and highly-publicized enemies. The character was brought to life by Jim Carrey in 1995's "Batman Forever". In the current "Gotham" TV series, the role is portrayed by Cory Michael Smith.

There are rumblings that Amell will soon leave the show, but nothing has been confirmed at this point. What's certain, however, is that the lead star will reprise his role in "Arrow" Season 5. As a matter of fact, Amell dished juicy details about the "Arrow" Season 5 premiere.

"If [the premiere] is any indication, Arrow is going to be f--king mean this year," Amell told fans through a live chat on Facebook. "And that's really exciting."

He revealed that "Arrow" Season 5 will open the season with an explosive action sequence, which he described as "an opportunity for us to quite literally have the most vicious, violent one-shot - which is where there is no cut - in the history of network television," Den of Geek reported.

Amell said he insisted on doing all the stunts by himself, instead of leaving it to a stunt man. As a result, stunt coordinator and director James Bamford instructed him to do the scene shirtless. He also revealed that fans will see a "slightly modified version" of the Green Arrow's costume in "Arrow" Season 5.

Meanwhile, new and old characters will be coming to Starling City in "Arrow" Season 5. It has been confirmed that Tyler Ritter will join the show as Detective Malone, while Josh Segarra has signed up to play district attorney Adrian Chase.

"Arrow" Season 5 is expected to premiere later this year.
