"One Punch Man" is an ongoing Japanese webcomic created by an author using the pseudonym One, which began publication in early 2009.

Good news awaits all "One Punch Man" fans, as the anime has reportedly a release date. Latest reports claimed that Toonami recently revealed that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will make its debut in October.

The long-awaited "One Punch Man" Season 2 release date was revealed amid Toonami's Anime Expo on July 1, Friday, Game N Guide reported. The publication claimed that Toonami reportedly announced that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will begin airing this October, ending months of speculations with respect to the anime's conceivable release date.

Though details about the second season's plot remain scarce, speculations are rife that Saitama will presumably fight against his most prominent adversary, namely, Garou. It is strongly speculated that Garou, the former disciple of S-Class' Silver Fang, will most likely be the show's newest scoundrel considering that the upcoming season is speculated to cover the Hero Hunter arc.

Dubbed as Human Monster, Garou's primary objective is to chase down the series' top ranking heroes from the S-Class down to the A-Class list. It is said that Garou never enjoyed superheroes and constantly bolstered monsters because of his sympathy for their ambitions.

The news comes shortly after Toonami announced that the English dubbed version of the series will begin airing on July 16. The English cast of the show was also revealed at the Anime Expo, with voice actor Max Mittelman, 25, playing the titular character, Saitama.

He will be joined by voice actors Zach Aguilar, Erik Scott Kimerer and Robbie Daymond. The series' first season, which was helmed by Shingo Natsume at Madhouse, aired in Japan from Oct. 5, and Dec. 21, 2015 for 12 episodes.

Set in a world where monsters run uncontrolled, "One Punch Man" focuses on Saitama, a superhero who has become exhausted, as he has turned out to be powerful to the point that all of his battles end in a single punch. The animated series has garnered an astonishing amount of critical acclaim in light of its unique storyline.

The original manga series had 2.2 million copies in print in November 2013, 3.2 million copies and 4.5 million sold copies in April and November 2014, respectively. The series was also nominated for the seventh annual Manga Taisho Awards in 2014, Anime News Network reported.
