"The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev is once again breaking her silence over her ex-boyfriend and former co-star Ian Somerhalder.

According to Master Herald, the 27-year-old actress has made it clear once again that her split from Somerhalder wasn't due to anything negative that the actor has done on her.

This is the very reason why after they decided to end things, Somerhalder and Dobrev remained amicable towards each other.

At one point, the actress also went as far as saying that she will always love Somerhalder because they have been the best of friends for so many years.

Meanwhile, Movie News Guide clarified that Somerhalder's decision to exit "The Vampire Diaries" at the end of season 8 doesn't have anything to do with Dobrev's possible return.

Previously, executive producer Julie Plec said that she wants to invite Dobrev back to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert in the hit The CW series.

The exec added that seeing Elena in the finale would be more than enough so she could conclude some of her hanging storylines.

Immediately after Plec talked about Dobrev's possible return to the show, Somerhalder announced that he will be exiting the once-hit franchise.

Some fans even attributed Somerhalder's decision to quit "The Vampire Diaries" to his wife Nikki Reed who isn't very close to Dobrev.

Previously, while both Somerhalder and Dobrev were still on "The Vampire Diaries," Reed would go to the studio to watch over her husband.

Now that Dobrev's return is possible, Reed is allegedly trying to make sure that she will have very few scenes with her husband Somerhalder.

However, none of these speculations and rumors have been confirmed or denied by Dobrev, Somerhalder and Reed.

In fact, Dobrev hasn't also said anything about the reports that her return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 has already been sealed.

In season 7, the actress lent her voice as Elena Gilbert in the finale episode. During that time, Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore heard Elena's voice and followed it into the Armory vault.

At present, Damon is still trapped in the vault, and Elena could return to help save him.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW sometime this fall.
