Director Karwai Wong joins 'The Grandmaster' stars Zhang Ziyi, Song Hye-Kyo and Tony Leung Chiu Wai at the 2013 Chinese Film Festival opening ceremony at Yeouido CGV in Seoul, South Korea.

Not many fans of Song Hye-Kyo's "Descendants of the Sun" co-star Song Joong-ki know that he is friends with "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" star Zhang Ziyi, 37. The latter even jokingly refers to the former as the husband of her daughter Wang Xingxing, who was born on Dec. 27, 2015.

Recently, Zhang took to Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, to share a photo of Joong-ki carrying her daughter. In the caption, as cited by Yonhap News, she wrote, "Your 'husband' is really a warm and lovely person. Xingxing, are you pretending to be cool (in Song's embrace)?"

In March 2015, Zhang and Chinese rock musician Wang Feng, 45, got married in Hong Kong. The latter is a coach on "The Voice of China."

Zhang is set to star in the upcoming sci-fi-thriller film titled "God Particle" to be directed by "The Girl is in Trouble" directed Julius Onah. Produced by "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J. J. Abrams, the film is set to hit theaters on Feb. 24, 2017.

"Star Trek Beyond" writer Doug Jung and "22 Jump Street" writer Oren Uziel wrote the screenplay of "God Particle." The story revolves around astronauts aboard a space station who get isolated after the Earth disappears following a scientific experiment.

Joining Zhang in the cast are "Beauty and the Beast" actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" actress Elizabeth Debicki. Their other co-stars are David Oyelowo, John Ortiz, Chris O'Dowd and Daniel Bruhl.

Born in Beijing, China, Zhang had her first major role in the 1999 Chinese romantic drama film "The Road Home." Aside from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," in which she co-starred with Chow Yun-Fat, her other notable films are "My Wife is a Gangster 2," "House of Flying Daggers," "Memoirs of a Geisha," "Sophie's Revenge," "Rush Hour 2" and "The Grandmaster."

Zhang is endorsing the Chinese cosmetic brand Proya. In April, Joong-ki joined her as brand ambassador and the two are set to be featured together in the brand's ad, according to Korea Herald.

Unlike Zhang, Joong-ki has yet to star in a Hollywood film while Hye-Kyo co-starred with Zhang in "The Grandmaster" and "The Crossing." Watch a Korean interview with Joong-ki with English subtitles here:
