"One Piece" character Roronoa Zoro, "The Crossing" actress Zhang Ziyi and "Glee" alum Charice do have one thing in common. They are all Asians.
"One Piece" creator Eiichiro Oda recently revealed in the "One Piece" manga corner called "Shitsumon wo Boshu Suru" that Zoro is the only Japanese member of the Straw Hat Pirates. It turned out that the main protagonist Monkey D. Luffy is actually Brazilian.
Meanwhile, Zhang was born in Beijing, China on Feb. 9, 1979. She is considered one of the four most bankable actresses from Mainland China in the 2000s along with Xu Jinglei, Zhou Xun and Zhao Wei.
Zhang is known for her roles in "Rush Hour 2," "House of Flying Daggers," "Hero," "My Wife is a Gangster 2," "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Memoirs of a Geisha." Recently, she reprised her role as Yu Zhen in John Woo's "The Crossing 2" opposite Japanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro.
In September, Zhang attended the 2015 Bazaar Star Charity Night in Beijing along with fellow Asian Hollywood actress Fan Bingbing, according to Huffington Post. Fan will star opposite Jackie Chan and Johnny Knowxville in "Skiptrace," which is set to be released on Dec.
On the other hand, and "Glee" alum Charice was born in Laguna, Philippines on May 10, 1992. Her debut international album "Charice" entered the Billboard 200 chart at number eight in 2010 making her the first Asian solo singer to land in the top 10 of the chart.
Charice's song "Pyramid" featuring Iyaz was also the second song by a Filipino singer to enter the Billboard Hot 100 after peaking at number 56. The first one was Jaya's debut single "If You Leave Me Now," which peaked on the chart at number 44 in 1990.
