Amidst rumors surrounding the imminent Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release, new reports claim that the device will come with Qualcomm's new processor, the Snapdragon 821. The processor is said to be Qualcomm's next high-end processor and successor of the current Snapdragon 820.
According to AN and Tech, the Snapdragon 821 will be supposedly faster than the Snapdragon 820, hence predicting of a faster Galaxy Note device than the previous one. The CPU will have speeds of up to 2.4GHz along with a faster GPU of up to 650MHz.
And even though the changes in CPU and GPU speeds from the previous Snapdragon processor may not be significant, implementation of the Snapdragon 821 can have a noteworthy effect on the performance of a device. This means that the performance of Galaxy Note 7 might even get better than initially predicted, although this is not subject to debate until actual tests are carried out.
Meanwhile, a version of the same device, allegedly bound for United States Carrier Verizon, has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database. The model, which carried the model number SM-N930V, featured Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor along with 4GB of RAM.
Surprisingly, the specs did not match with the initially rumored details that suggested a Snapdragon 821 or an Exynos 8893 processor for various models. But according to some Galaxy Note enthusiasts, the spotted device may have just been under testing on Verizon's network.
Apparently, a similar version of Galaxy Note 7 was recently disclosed through the AnTuTu benchmarking site, revealing a Snapdragon 820 with a quadcore CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. Another version had, again, appeared on Geekbench last week, revealing that the device would run on the latest Android 7 build.
Unlike the Verizon version, the latter one was carrying the model number SM-N930F and packed the Exynos 7420 chipset instead of an Exynos 8893 processor. These series of rumors have confused the Samsung Galaxy Note fraternity, leaving fans unsure of what processor to expect.
They have further generated doubt about other rumored specs of the device. However, if the latest hearsays are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 arrive in August at a price of $849 along with a fresh processor.
