Samsung may disappoint users with the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 as specs have been revealed through a leaked AnTuTu benchmark that shows no Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 or the rumored 6GB LPDDR4 RAM.

Earlier reports have already claimed that the new phablet from Samsung will be one of its most powerful devices yet with a Snapdragon 823 chipset and 6GB RAM. However, the new benchmark data shows that it will be using a weaker counterpart and just 4GB for its memory.

The benchmark results were those of the Samsung "SM-N930V" which is known to be the codename for the Galaxy Note 7. It showed some basic specs of the phone along with data of how it scores on the test.

It turns out that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip instead of the expected Snapdragon 823 or even the SD821, Forbes has learned. It means that it would perform just as well as but not better than the current Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge that was recently released.

While the Snapdragon 820 holds up well compared to its competition, it could have been better for the South Korean tech giant's new phablet to be more powerful and more efficient with the battery life. Perhaps the new chipset would be expected for the Galaxy Note 8 instead in 2017.

Another startling discovery is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will only be using 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB that everyone was waiting for, Gotta Be Mobile reported. The added ram could have provided a huge performance boost for the phablet's multitasking capabilities.

There is still some good news as the new leaks point out that there could be both a fingerprint scanner and the new Samsung Iris Eye scanner as well for the Galaxy Note 7. Using the Iris scanner would make unlocking the phone faster while the fingerprint sensor could still be used.

The Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be revealed at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in August if the leaked press invites are to be believed. Samsung can then confirm whether they will be using a Snapdragon 823 chipset from Qualcomm or if they will be dropping the 6GB RAM completely.
