BLACKPINK and 2NE1

It seems that 2NE1 comeback is not happening anytime soon.

Although YG announced that its senior girl group is preparing for a comeback as a trio after Minzy left the label, there have been no concrete plans or teasers. Below are the five reasons why 2NE1 comeback is not happening anytime soon.

1. YG girl group BLACKPINK debut is at the end of this month.

The main reason for the delay is the imminent debut of YG Entertainment new flagship girl group - BLACKPINK. Dubbed as the second coming of 2NE1, the new female group has four members that reminded fans of 2NE1. YG is increasing the anticipation of waiting fans by releasing teasers for weeks until its debut. Moreover, it seems that all resources are given to the new group to ensure its success.

2. Teddy to be main producer of BLACKPINK.

Another reason why 2NE1 will not take the stage anytime soon is because Teddy will be the main producer of the new girl group. It was thought that G-Dragon will be the producer of the girls, but it seems that Teddy has more songs fit for a girl group. Teddy has been in charge of 2NE1's albums.

3. Dara to host new reality show in Philippines.

Dara is leaving South Korea for some time to work in the Philippines where she got her break in the entertainment industry. Reports claimed that she will host a reality TV show. Since it's a TV show, it will most likely run for months. This means the trio is not preparing for any possible comeback in months.

4. Park Bom drug scandal still fresh and unforgiven by netizens.

After more than a year, it seems that people think that Park Bom has not reflected enough on her drug scandal. Park Bom has hinted her desire to stand on stage by performing at MAMA 2015 and attending her sister's recital, but this is met with criticisms.

5. CL still preparing for US debut.

Lastly, CL has not let go of her dream of debuting in the US. While this is old news, there was no official statement that the plans are dropped.
