Misbehaving tourists can now be banned from the Palace Museum.

A number of high-value art collections embodying the rich historical and cultural heritage of China will be displayed in celebration of the Palace Museum’s 90th year anniversary, Museum Director Shan Qixiang revealed.

Shan said that out of the 520 culture-rich antiques that will be featured, around 80 percent will be out for public dipslay for the first time.

The collection includes a very important painting depicting ceremonies held while Emperor Kangxi was on the throne. The 44-meter-long artwork is regarded as a significant piece in the field of historical research. Emperor Kangxi reigned from 1661 to 1722.

Another art piece up for public viewing is the "Along the River During the Qing Ming Festival," which is considered as one of the most valuable paintings in Chinese history.

As a word of advice, Shan said: "Those who are interested in the painting should not miss this opportunity since it's only open to the public every three years."

Other must-see works that will be featured include the "Amusement of Emperor Xuan in Ming Dynasty," "Orchard Pavillion Preface," and "Calligraphies of Emperors Shunzhi, Kangxi, Yongzeng, Qianlong and Jiaqing."

According to Shang, the Yanchi Palace, which is the largest among the exhibition halls, will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, helping promote a more intimate viewing experience for the visitors, art enthusiasts and the like.

Meanwhile, the Cining Palace plans to mount an exhibit featuring over 400 sculptures. This palace was an abode to Empress Xiaozhuan, mother to Emperor Qianlong.

To further relive the glory of the palaces, the museum officials also decided to employ digital technology.
