The PlayStation 4, not the PS4 NEO, was showcased during Annual Gaming Industry Conference E3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

PlayStation avid fans will learn about the official PlayStation August roster on July 26. The list is normally unveiled in the last week of the month before the official release comes a week later. As a result, fans should look forward to download the new lineup of titles for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita on Aug. 2.

Although Sony Entertainment is yet to confirm free games that are arriving next months, fans are already speculating. It is believed that "Yakuza 5" will be among the PS3 free games on offer in August after the title was inadvertently released in July and was removed later by the company.

There are no games leaked early this month, as was the case in the past. It seems like aficionados will have to remain patient until later this week to get the full roster. Another release expected for next month is the new "Nioh" beta demo that will begin on Aug. 23 on PS4, according to Express UK.

Meanwhile, Sony has given an update on earlier reports that Amazon Spain accidentally listed PS4 NEO release date and price. According to a representative from Sony Entertainment, the listing was supposed to be for PlayStation VR headset.

A listing was spotted on Amazon Spain website, revealing a price of €399.99 ($442) and the same release date as the PlayStation VR. However, the price for PS4 NEO has been scrapped from the website. Sony is yet to confirm any retail information for the new console.

According to the tech giant, there was poor choice of words that resulted into it being misconceived as the PS4 NEO. Therefore, both the release date and price for the new console are false and should not be considered as leak of new information.

Paul Raines, the CEO of GameStop, had an interview with CNBC, covering when the PS4 NEO might be released. Raines dished on the new devices that would be launched after the release of the new "Pokémon GO" mobile title after he was asked about what else fans should expect in the upcoming holiday season.

"Yes, there will be a new Nintendo console launch in March 2017," Raines said. "But remember, there are two different form factors: a PS4 Neo and an Xbox One new slim version. So there will be some activity and upgrades, along with the VR."

GameStop has ever come out to clarify that Raines was not talking about the release window for PS4 NEO console. As a result, the CEO did not give a reference to the timing of the new console launch.
