Because South Korean actor and singer Park Yoochun is busy battling solicitation of prostitution and fraud charges, the KPop group JYJ excluded him from their annual Seoul fan meet on Sept. 9-11.
Soompi cited Park Yoochun’s undergoing police investigation as the reason behind the decision of C-JeS Entertainment to limit the fan meet too JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu. In a statement released on Tuesday, July 26, the agency said that the 2016 Membership Week with the two JYJ members would have fans enjoy a talk show, dressing room, dance party and unreleased footage of the boy band.
The agency confirmed the Park Yoochun was removed from the annual event because of the ongoing probe. “But he will take responsibility for everyone’s worry and support. We ask that fans wait patiently and trust that he will soon be acquitted,” C-JeS said.
The event would be held at the Coex Hall in Gangnam, Seoul, the fifth year that Membership Week has taken place. Coex’s Hall D could accommodate up to 7,000 people.
When Kim Junsu held his 2016 XIA 5th Asia Tour Concert in Thailand’s Thunder Dome on July 23, he attracted 3,000 fans. It was Kim Junju’s first Thailand concert in over a year when the fans gathered for a night of laughter and fun with the JYJ member, reported JYJ3.net.
It was extremely hot that day, with a temperature reading of 30 degrees Celsius, but despite the heat, the fans filled Thunder Dome and enjoyed Kim Junsu’s powerful and lively performance. He performed tracks “Don’t Forget,” “This Love Shouldn’t Go Away, “Still” and more numbers from XIGNATURE, his fourth studio album.
