"The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder was recently spotted canoodling with his wife Nikki Reed while at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.
According to Perez Hilton, the couple kicked off their stay in San Diego with a day jog. At that time, they remained distant from each other.
However, the minute they attended an event at the Hard Rock Hotel, the couple couldn't keep their hands off of each other.
The same event was attended by Somerhalder's "The Vampire Diaries" co-stars who reportedly looked uncomfortable at the sight of Reed and Somerhalder's PDA spree.
Somerhalder and Reed later on went to a booth to spend some time with their other common friends before leaving the bar to go back to their hotel.
Meanwhile, there are ongoing rumors suggesting that Reed will make a cameo in "The Vampire Diaries" season 8.
Since this will be the last installment for the hit The CW series, Reed may be brought in as a new visitor in Mystic Falls.
There are also some speculations suggesting that Reed could play Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert's doppelganger if the actress refuses to appear in the finale episode.
After all, things may be very awkward for the trio because Reed typically goes to "The Vampire Diaries" set with her husband.
If Dobrev will return, the "Sleepy Hollow" alum will be able to witness Dobrev and Somerhalder's onscreen love affair.
Things are different these days because Dobrev and Somerhalder are no longer a couple, and to make things worse the latter is now happily married to Reed.
However, it seems that Dobrev couldn't care less about any of these rumors.
In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec said that there will be other cast members returning to the last season of the show.
Even though Plec didn't name which former cast members these were, there are hints that Caroline's (Candice Accola-King) mom Sheriff Forbes may return.
Some key characters in Damon, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Bonnie's (Kat Graham) life may also be featured in the series.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
