''The Mummy'' is an extremely successful franchise and the producer Sean Daniel is coming with another one in the franchise. Tom Cruise is all set to play the role Tyler Colt in the upcoming action-adventure horror film.

Recently the filming concluded in London and Cruise and Annabelle Wallis were spotted running towards safety after the shoot was over. As far as the storyline is concerned, this movie too will unravel the supernatural world of Gods and monsters, Games Radar reported. Alex Kurtzman who is the director of this movie has tried to blend the modern day plot along with the ancient Egypt of pharaohs and mummies.

An ancient queen who did not fulfill her desires in her past life and was entombed as mummy resurrects in the modern day London. This role is played by Sofia Boutella and the movie has a female protagonist. Cruise signed on the dotted lines in January this year and this movie is set to be released on Jun. 9, 2017.

Universal Pictures will be distributing this movie across the globe and Universal Studios will be the makers. Universal Studios wanted the director Kurtzman to explore all the possible classic film monsters and develop them into movies. Since this success mantra worked in the previous movies from the first one released in 1999, the makers want to explore it more.

Recently the media and social media were full of the pictures from the shoot where Cruise and Annabelle Wallis were running away from the enemies. It is possible that they were running from Sofia Boutella's title character, however, those details will definitely not be released by the cast and crew of the movie.

To add further, Cruise is playing the role of a Special Forces soldier who is given the task to unearth the reality behind the mummy which was believed to be buried inside the womb of the unforgiving desert, Movie Web reported. Only time will tell about the success of this movie which has an ensemble star cast.

Jon Spaihts has written the script of the movie and Brian Tyler will give the unique music for this movie. Watch this clip from the prequel ''The Mummy.''
