Apple’s new USB Type-C Ports: For MacBook Pro 2016 or MacBook Air 2?; MacBook Air upgrades mere minor updates?

MacBook Pro 2016 is slated to a fourth quarter release.

It is just a month before the much-awaited Apple September event, where the tech world will finally be able to get to know the new iPhone 7; however, aside from its high-end handset, fans of the Cupertino-based giant is also expecting its next laptop upgrade that leads to MacBook Pro 2016 and MacBook Air 2.

One of the latest rumors about the laptop line of Apple Inc. is that it will be sporting USB Type-C ports, a future-proof connector that is faster and flappable, Apple Insider reported.

According to the same publication, USB Type-C ports are intended for the California-headquartered company's MacBook Air. This is information, however, was refuted, as the new USB feature will reportedly be made available for the more high-end MacBook Pro and not for MacBook Air 2. This idea is in line with the earlier rumors that Apple Inc. will no longer release a new version to its MacBook Air line.

Tech observers have commented that the company's upgrade for the MacBook Air line over the years has never been significant overhauls, but mere minor updates.

Because of this, many have predicted that Apple will be diminishing its MacBook line via axing the MacBook Air and improving its MacBoook Pro line. In line with this, rumors claim that the Cupertino-tech giant will be beefing up the new MacBook Pro 2016 via four USB Type-C ports equipped with fast Thunderbolt 3 support. The new version of this high-end laptop will also sport a new design and a new OLED touch bar, instead of row of function keys.

The upcoming MacBook Pro 2016 will also sport a Touch ID integration log-in which provides better security. As Apple Inc. is known for "its thinner is better" ideology, it is also expected that its new MacBook Pro 2016 will be ultra-thinner compared to its predecessors.

In terms of its release, early reports said that MacBook Pro 2016 is slated to a fourth quarter release, which means it will not be on September.
