New South Korean girl group Black Pink debuts music video for new track "Whistle."

YG Entertainment's newest girl group Black Pink has recently made its South Korean music industry debut. However, one of the new group's music videos has gained criticisms from Red Velvet fans.

Some of the loyal followers of the girl group Red Velvet have shared their thoughts over Black Pink's recent debut. The new four-member singing team has unveiled its music video for "Whistle" on Monday, Aug. 8. The song is one of the tracks from the group's first album titled "Square One."

Red Velvet fans claimed that Black Pink used similar filming angles and props in its "Whistle" music video, allkpop reported. The group's followers alleged that the similarities are evident in Red Velvet's music videos for some of its songs such as "Automatic," "Dumb Dumb," as well as "One of these Nights." A few fans even labeled YG Entertainment's new girl group as "Plagiarism Pink."

Screen captures from Black Pink's "Whistle" music video were also captured online by some Red Velvet fans. The said images were compared side-by-side with shots from Red Velvet's music videos, as indicated in the same report. In one of the pictures, a scene that featured the Black Pink members inside a dark-colored car has been compared to a similar shot in Red Velvet's "Automatic" music video.

The same report also captured comments from netizens who shared that YG Entertainment's new group reminded them of 2NE1. Meanwhile, some fans disagreed with the plagiarism claim and mentioned that Black Pink's video for "Whistle" did not have a lot of similarities with Red Velvet's music clips when viewed as a whole music video.

In other news, the new girl group has shared their thoughts on their debut during Black Pink's showcase that recently aired on V-Line, Soompi reported. Group member Rose stated that they have been working hard to prepare for Black Pink's debut. The same sentiment was also shared by her fellow group members Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa.

YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun Suk also commented on the group's similarities with its fellow labelmate 2NE1, as indicated in the same report. He stated that the company focused on giving Black Pink YG's "unique sound" that has been a trademark among the various idols groups under the said agency. He explained that the same process was used with the popular group 2NE1.
