Nintendo NX controller leak that caused controversy.

Another clue for what the Nintendo NX can bring surfaces as the company files a patent application for what seems to be detachable controllers for the main console.

Several reports in the past few months have already claimed that the Nintendo NX will have a second-screen capability through the form of another controller. The most recent patent application now adds more fuel to the Nintendo NX speculations and rumors that players will be able to play their games even if they are not at home.

NeoGAF user Disorientator claims that the detachable controller will just be a plastic shell transmitting wireless signals to the Nintendo NX itself as shown in the patent, IGN has learned. The patent also shows that the controller reads the player's gestures and touches using an infrared camera.

While the Nintendo NX detachable controller does look like tablet in the patent, it still features buttons that the player can press. Unfortunately, the patent does not state how far the controller can be used from the main console until it can no longer work due to the loss of signal.

Nintendo NX's detachable controller patent also shows that it can also read gestures and taps from the player, Polygon reported. It adds fuel to the rumors and speculations that the upcoming console is more focused on mobile gaming due to the earlier reports of an NVIDIA Tegra processor powering the device.

The Japanese video game company has also filed another patent in 2015 that shows a tablet or presumed to be the Nintendo NX controller with a camera that detects the player's gestures. Nintendo NX games could then be based around the new control mechanic which is something that the company is known for.

Nintendo has not confirmed anything regarding the console yet and they are not planning to do so anytime soon as they already skipped the E3 2016 conference. The Nintendo NX release date is already set for March 2017 but little is still known about the company's console except for a few confirmed titles such as Dragon Quest X and Just Dance 2017 from Ubisoft.
