'One Step' is an upcoming Korean movie directed by Juhn Jai-Hong and starring Sandara Park, Han Jae-Suk, Cho Dong-In and Hong Ah-Reum.

2NE1's Sandara Park, better known as Dara, is going to make her big screen debut in "One Step," an upcoming Korean film to be directed by Juhn Jai-Hong. It is a remake of the 2013 American movie "Begin Again" starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.

On Aug. 12, Thursday, the film production company, MCC Entertainment, announced that Dara and "Four Sisters" actor Han Jae-Suk, 43, has been confirmed to play the lead roles in the upcoming "One Step" film, All Kpop reported.

The studio made the announcement that Dara will be playing the role of the young woman, Si-Hyun, who is left with no memories after being involved in a car accident. The mishap causes her to see sounds in color, which is regularly disorientating, constraining Si-Hyun to protect her ears.

Han, on the other hand, will be taking on the role of a formerly famous songwriter, Woo-Hyuk, who falls into a slump after becoming unable to create songs. Upon hearing Si-Hyun humming an unusual tune in her sleep, Woo-Hyuk records it as a score, hoping that it would help her remember something of her former life.

Jee-Il (Cho Dong-In) stumbles upon this score and offers to find the perfect melody for it. Along with Ji-Won (Hong Ah-Reum), they embark on a healing journey in hope to complete Si-Hyun's melody.

With "Poongsan" director Juhn Jai-Hong at the helm, "One Step" is intended to be released in theaters across South Korea later this year. Renowned music director, Kim Soo-Jin, has been working on the film's original soundtrack for nearly three years, Soompi reported. More details about the project will be revealed soon.

Technically, "One Step" marks Dara's first lead film role in South Korea. The 2NE1 member rose to instant fame as the runner-up in "Star Circle Quest" Season 1, a reality-based talent competition in the Philippines.

Dara received her first lead role in a Filipino three-way love story film "Bcuz of U" (2004) opposite Hero Angeles. She quickly established herself as a household name and earned the national title "Pambansang krungkrung ng Pilipinas."

In 2007, Dara returned to South Korea and signed with YG Entertainment with the initial intention of proceeding with her profession as an actress. Instead, she became a member of 2NE1 and debuted as the delicate vocal and visual of the quartet.
