The Lenovo Y710 can contain a GTX 1080 or a GTX 1070

Lenovo's new Y710 Cube is a desktop box that can house the new NVIDIA Pascal GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 cards without being too flashy.

The company recently unveiled the new Lenovo Y710 and the IdeaCentre AIO Y910 which still rocks the same red and black aesthetic theme. Lenovo's Y710 is VR-Ready for those who already have an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive VR headset.

One unique characteristic of the Y710 is that the case has a handle so that the user can bring it to anywhere they like provided that they would have a screen output ready. Of course, the peripherals would also need to be brought as well.

Lenovo is calling the Y710 the "console conqueror" because it packs the latest Pascal GPUs from NVIDIA, The Verge has learned. Customers can choose between the GTX 1080 or the GTX 1070 variant.

The Lenovo Y710 packs a 6th generation Intel Core i7 processor with 32GB DDR4 RAM. Storage-wise, purchasers will get a 256GB SSD and a 2TB HDD for a hybrid setup.

Overall, the Lenovo Y710 looks like a toolbox that can be carried around. Interested users can buy the Lenovo Y710 with the GTX 1070 card starting at $1299 while the AIO Y910 will start at $1799, CNET reported.

Some PC gamers may scoff at the price tag as they can make a more powerful build with roughly the same price. However, the case of the Y710 itself seems to be worth it in terms of its portability and design.

Unfortunately, there is no variant with NVIDIA's new Titan X video card which blows the GTX 1080 out of the water. There is also no news on whether the desktop set will also have variants with the AMD Radeon RX 480 video cards.

Lenovo will be selling the new Y710 and Y910 desktop rigs in October for customers in the United States. The company has yet to reveal the price and release date for customers in Australia and the United Kingdom but it could cost more because of the recent Brexit.
