Xiaomi and Lenovo released budget smartphones this month, Redmi 3S Prime and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus, respectively. Redmi 3S Prime that will be available from Aug. 9 will be sold on Flipkart and Mi.com, while the Vibe K5 Plus that launched on Aug.1 alongside the k5 Note.
Both smartphones are closely priced, leaving a short margin between both the devices to fight for customers' attention. Xiaomi Redmi 3S is priced at Rs. 8,999 (approx. US$135), which is a little higher than the Vibe K5 Plus that will cost you Rs. 8,499 (approx. US$127).
While there is not much difference in price of both the phones, a comparative analysis of the devices with regards to specifications will help you draw a conclusion.
Design and Display
Both the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and Lenovo Vibe K5 boast of a metal unibody exterior that offers a distinctive look. The display size is 5-inches in both phones, but the Redmi 3S Prime has a 720p HD screen at 294ppi.
On the other hand, the Vibe k5 Plus comes with a Full HD resolution at 441ppi along with 178-degree viewing angle. Also, the Vive K5 Plus is better than the Redmi 3S Prime with regards to a clearer and brighter display.
RAM, storage, and processor
Fuelled by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with quad-core CPU, 32GB expandable storage, and 3GB of RAM, the Redmi 3S Prime offers optimal performance. On the contrary, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is supported with a 1.5GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 616 octa-core CPU combined with 16GB storage and 3GB of RAM. There is a microSD card slot in the phone that supports storage up to 128GB.
Going by this comparison, The Redmi 3S Prime offers more storage option, but if you are looking for a better processor, the Vibe K5 Plus is better.
Battery
Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime has an edge over the Vibe K5 Plus with the former having a 4,100mAh battery and the latter boasting 2,750mAh battery, GSM Arena reported.
Camera
As for the camera, the Lenovo Vibe K5 is packed with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. While the primary camera comes with a 5-piece lens and the front snapper has an f/2.8 aperture, BGR reported.
The primary camera of the Redmi 3S Prime comes with a 5-physical lens and f/2.0 aperture and the secondary camera has an f/2.2 aperture combined with 36-self portrayed selfie options.
In terms of comparison on the basis of different features, the Redmi 3S Prime better battery and storage option, while the Vibe K5 has a great processor and lower price tag.
