Is Jennifer Lawrence starring in an upcoming TV series anthology titled ‘Genius’?

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most decorated young stars in recent history. With an Academy Award and big blockbuster hits under her belt, there's nothing the 26-year-old star can do wrong. But there's one thing noticeably faint on Lawrence's prolific resume, and that's a television series.

Television has become more popular and more respected than ever. It has become home to some of the best dramas, comedies and action the entertainment industry has ever seen. With the rise of solid, award-winning shows such as "Game of Thrones," "House of Cards" and more recently "Stranger Things," TV has it all, and most of these successful show have one common denominator - esteemed film actors making their way to the small screen.

There's a hope that Lawrence would follow the likes of Kevin Spacey, Matthew McConaughey and Winona Ryder, the starlet is still making movies. According to The Huffington Post, when we finally see Lawrence grace the television series medium, viewers will know that we've reached the peak of TV's golden age.

As to finding a TV material that would suit Lawrence's caliber is a matter of timing. There's a new show on the horizon, however, it just might be the perfect fit. It's none other than National Geographic's anthology series "Genius." According to TV Line, the show has enlisted Geoffrey Rush for the role of Albert Einstein.

Each season, the show will tell the story of an influential innovator, beginning their premiere season with Einstein. The show will premiere in 2017.

The rise of "Genius" gives an opportune moment for Lawrence to make her small screen debut. Anthology formats is a tried and test formula that has produced successful results. Fans of Ryan Murphy's work would know, and everyone else who'se seen "American Horror Story" and "American Crime Story."

Perhaps, in a not so distant future, we would see Lawrence on "Genius" bringing to life the story of Marie Curie, one of the most celebrated contributors in the field of radioactivity. In the meantime, Lawrence co-stars with Chris Pratt in the sci-fi drama "Passengers," which opens in theaters on Dec. 21.
