'Bomberman Live: Battlefest'

Xbox One's backwards compatibility program is getting bigger as Microsoft keeps adding new Xbox 360 titles to the list of classic games. The software giant originally announced many titles in the early days of the program and Xbox fans are still waiting for updates. However, Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb announced that "Bomberman Live: Battlefest" was added to the catalog of backwards compatible games on August 18, Thursday.

Pi Studios developed the Xbox 360 game. It requires gamers to blow up bricks to earn power-ups and defeat other players.

"Battlefest" can be a single-player game or include up to seven other players. The 2010 game includes a dozen arenas and modes including Paintbomb and Capture the Flag, according to GameSpot.

"Battlefest" will automatically show up for Xbox One owners who already own the Xbox 360 game, while people who only own the newer console can buy the old-school game for $10. Its size is about 678 MB.

Microsoft rolled out the backwards compatibility feature to Xbox One in November 2015. This week the company reported that users have spent 145 million total hours playing Xbox 360 titles on Xbox One.

The third Xbox console's backwards compatibility catalog now includes over 230 games.

Many Xbox fans are waiting for their favorite games to be added to the backwards compatible games. "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" is the most-requested title.

The original "Black Ops" game was added to the program this summer. However, there have been no updates about when the sequel will be released.

Meanwhile, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" is the second-most requested game for the program. It might not be added due to the recent announcement of a remastered "Skyrim Special Edition".

Microsoft has already reported that "BioShock Infinite" will be added to the program's game library. Since then it has given no updates about a release date, but the third "BioShock" game is coming to Xbox One.

Other highly-requested games for the backwards compatibility service include "Assassin's Creed III", "Batman: Arkham City", "Battlefield 3", "Grand Theft Auto IV", and "Skate 3".

In related news, it has been learned that Andrew Kim was part of the design team of the Xbox One S console, according to The Verge. The company asked him to create an avant-garde design that was different from standard gaming consoles.

Kim was hired in 2013 after the company saw his design concepts. He is now working on Microsoft's HoloLens augmented reality (AR) headset.
