Lenovo reveals new Moto E3, not the Moto Z Play

Motorola's highly anticipated Moto Z Play now has more leaked photos and specs which include a new fingerprint sensor and Moto Mod pin connectors.

The original Moto Z modular Android smartphone was released several months ago and it has received mostly positive feedbacks. Motorola's new Moto Z Play Design could be the next big thing in the company's lineup as it would essentially be a less powerful and but more affordable version.

Moto Z Play leaked photos show that the company is going to a new direction in terms of the design as a new glossy finish instead of the predecessor's metallic one has been spotted, Nashville Chatter has learned. One square home button and the Moto Mod pin connectors are also shown to be present in the new Android smartphone.

In terms of specs, the Moto Z Play can pass for a high-end device. The device's screen size is 5.5-inch and is powered by an AMOLED panel for a brighter display and longer battery life. Unfortunately, the resolution is just 1080p and not 2K like most people expected.

Motorola is also reportedly developing an Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade for the Moto Z Play Design, BGR reported. The phone, which is expected to have a Snapdragon 625 processor and 3GB RAM, will be running Android Marshmallow out of the box which is not bad in itself.

Another good news is that it will have the standard 3.5mm jack unlike the Moto Z and the Moto Z force which ditched the much loved connector. Even Apple is reportedly removing the jack in their upcoming iPhone 7 as the leaked photos have already shown.

There is no confirmation from Motorola themselves yet regarding the Moto Z Play release date, specs and features. However, speculations state that the phone will cost around $300 for the unlocked version while the carrier-specific models will be cheaper.

Interested buyers will have to wait for the official announcement from Motorola regarding when the Moto Z Play will be released in the United States and across the globe. The price tag rumors would hopefully still be accurate by then.
