Korean singer/actor Lee Min-Ho attends a press conference for a commercial event on September 11, 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Actor Lee Min Ho recently sat down with Korean @Star1 magazine to discuss his position as the honorary ambassador of 2018's Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The 29-year-old Hallyu star joined the list of popular sports personalities, Alpine Ski Racer Lindsey Vonn, Baseball player Shin-Soo Choo and Former figure skater Kim Yuna, who was also named as goodwill ambassadors.

"It will have been 30 years since the Seoul Olympics in 1988," Lee told @Star1 magazine, as cited by Soompi. "I have a lot of pride, holding a global event like the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Pyeongchang, known for its scenery. Regardless of the ambassador position, as a Korean, I am proud."

"The Heirs" actor then expressed his desire to introduce Korea and Pyeongchang to the world through the upcoming major international multi-sport event. He also hopes all athletes will be able to perform well without any injuries.

Formally known as the XXIII Olympic Winter Games, the eagerly anticipated multi-sport event is scheduled to take place from Feb. 9 to 25, 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea. After Pyeongchang, Tokyo will host the 2020 Summer Olympics, while Beijing will stage the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Aside from the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Lee also talked his experience working with the veteran actress, Jun Ji-Hyun, in the upcoming SBS drama "Legend of the Blue Sea." He said that the fact that he is slated to appear in the same project as the "My Sassy Girl" actress is already a huge honor for him.

The 20-episode fantasy drama, which marks the last acting role for Lee before he goes into the military, began filming on Aug. 19, Friday, at Goesan, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. It will then move to the island of Palau later this month on multiple locations around Spain in September.

In a sit-down interview with Drama Fever, the "Gangnam Blues" actor revealed the factors why he chose to star in SBS's "Legend of the Blue Sea." The drama is penned by screenwriter Park Ji-Eun, whose previous projects include KBS 2TV's "The Producers" (2015) and SBS's "My Love From the Star" (2013-2014).

"I think this will be a series that has an appropriate amount of fantasy," said Lee. "Since the drama contains elements that are universally acknowledged, I think that this project will give off a more familiar feel to the viewers."
