Canon reveals the new EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR

Canon has recently unveiled the new EOS 5D Mark IV that follows the $2600 Mark III for professional photographers and aspiring filmmakers who simply want the best equipment.

One of the most useful features in the new Canon EOS 5D Mark IV is the capability to capture 4K DCI video at 30 frames per second which is more than enough for those cinematic shots. Users who want slow-motion captures can do so at 60 frames per second under 1080p resolution.

The new capabilities are thanks to Canon's new 30 MP sensor for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, PC Magazine has learned. There is also the Dual Pixel Autofocus feature for users who want to shoot with the Live View mode.

Photographers who want to make quick adjustments after the shot has been made can do so with the Dual Pixel Raw capture mode. They will be able to make changes in terms of sharpness and other available factors even after they already captured the photo although Canon has not yet disclosed how much control the user will have.

The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV has an impressive ISO range of 100 up to 32,000 which can even be expanded further down to 50 up to 102,400, Digital Trends reported. Canon is also unveiling two new lenses: the EF 24-105mm with an aperture of f/4L IS II and the EF 16-35mm with an even wider aperture of f/2.8L III.

Customers who will purchase the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV as a package will be getting the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II as the kit lens which is far more superior than its predecessors. Unfortunately, the Mark IV will be even more expensive than the Mark III considering all of the newer features and lens.

Canon is releasing the EOS 5D Mark IV in September with a price tag of $3,499 for the body alone and $4,599 if purchased with the aforementioned kit lens. Those who want a cheaper Mark IV with kit lens can wait to buy it in October for $4,399 with the EF 24-70mm f/4L kit lens instead.
